Hi! I’m so sorry that class videos for last week are not up yet. This cough BAD and is really getting in the way of teaching! I know my immune system is not up to par with the stress my family has had recently, and luckily I’m finally beginning to feel a little bit better. Here’s the new plan…last week’s classes will be posted as soon as I can speak loudly, clearly and without coughing. Then the next weeks’ classes will be posted by Tues and Wed morning so you can watch them during the same time they were originally scheduled…even including Thanksgiving week! Since I missed classes last week, that will be my makeup week. I am also available for questions and tips via email or messenger, so please let me know if you have any questions about class content. I really enjoy teaching and hope to back at it at least via video by mid week. Thanks for your patience and understanding! You have no idea how much your supportive emails have meant to me. See you soon! XOXO Love, Eva
Here are the links for the weekly LIVE classes. Don’t try to overdo it! Just watch the class or two that you are most interested in when you can. Art and growth is a process and sometimes we get burned out if we try to do too much too fast. Enjoy the journey and give yourself time to love it and find joy in art and yourself as a developing artist! Because you are!

Guitar Lesson #8 Simplified F Chord, G7 Chord, Strum Patterns and Try Everything with a Capo
This version is in the same key as the recording, so as you get faster you can strum along! I also demonstrated some ways to vary the strum pattern on this. Don’t worry about it if you aren’t there yet. We’ll keep working on it and Someone to Lava next week! Also, this PDF of the sheet music is the updated one. I took out the D chord because it didn’t really seem like it fit, so use this one and ignore what I say about playing D in the practice run through, it’s just C G C. Thanks!
Voice Lesson #8 Quick Warm-up & Performing When You Wish Upon a Star
Great practice video! I wanted to mention that if you are holding your music like I do in this video, make sure it’s high enough in front of you that you don’t have to lower your chin and face when you sing but also not too high that it covers your face. Out and at a mid-height is perfect!
Dance Lesson #7 End of Keep Your Head Up & Start of THRILLER!
I had so much fun doing this upbeat dance with you! Now that it’s October, let’s do something a little spookier…if you’re brave enough! Let’s jam to Thriller!
Ukulele Lesson #7 Reviewing (almost) Allll the Songs
Here’s an opportunity to practice playing songs with me at two different speeds, beginner and more comfortable and quick. I go through almost every song we’ve learned this term and I practice it with you. I hope this video is really helpful for you!
Photography Lesson #7 Portraits of a Storm Trooper
We had so fun doing a variety of portraits with a special guest today.
Here are the different kinds of portraits we learn about:
Self-portrait (Selfie…or use a tripod!)
Traditional Portraits (Posed and pretty!)
Lifestyle Portraits (Everyday life doing everyday things)
Environmental Portraits (Gives clues to that person’s personality and what matters to them)
Candid & Street Portraits (No planning or posing)
Fine Art, Conceptual, & Surreal Portraits (meant for an art gallery…not realistic, often uses Photoshop and LOTS of editing)
Have fun taking portraits this week and give some of these styles a try!
Guitar Lessons #7 Reviewing (almost) ALLLLL the Songs
Here’s great practice video to…practice with! Keep it up and get those fingers comfortable with what we’ve learned so far. We’re going to moving forward with F chord next week!
Voice Lesson #7 Practicing Practicing, and Singing Vowels
This week I take you through what a basic practice session at home can look like. We stretch our bodies briefly, do some breathing exercises and then some vocal warm-ups. Then I talked about practicing your song on a lip trill first, then alternate between singing JUST the vowels (It’s funny – I know!) and the actual words. Also, here’s an updated When You Wish Upon a Star with some better spacing. Print it out for practice please!
Dance Lesson #6 Second Half of Keep Your Head Up
We are flying through dances now! I’m going to be posting a warm-up video tomorrow that’s a compilation of all our different stretches so you can use it as needed and we can spend more time learning choreography! This week we learned the second half of Keep Your Head Up! We’ll add on the final ending next week and start learning a dance to something a little more “thrilling”.
Ukulele Lesson #6 “Love Me Do”- How to Find & Prep Practicing a Song
This week we learn how to look up a song you want to learn. I walk you through step by step and then also play through the song with you. There’s also an additional practice video to help you out so you can play along with me a little each day. Here’s the live version to get a kick out of and a track to play along with when you feel like you’re ready. If it’s too fast, just play on your own. Or just play one chord whenever it happens, like just G or C until you’re able to go back and forth. The music is there too. Have fun!
Photography #6 Canva
This week I teach you how to use Canva.com, a powerful, FREE photo editing and graphic art design website. I walk you through some of the options you have in it and do a quick easy edit of a photo. I hope this is a program you take advantage of and that can help you enhance your photos and use them in fun ways!

Voice Lesson #6 “When You Wish Upon a Star”
Here are some links to help with practicing our new song, When You Wish Upon a Star. The first is a beautiful rendition of the vocals, even though we won’t be breathing in the fancy place she is. 😉 The next one is the minus track. Then you’ll find the lyrics to print and the video. I hope you do a lot of lip trills this week to work on improving your breath support. This is sooooo important and it’s why I chose this song specifically. Practice with me so you can hear where in the music it goes a little higher for variety. Enjoy!
Dance Lesson #5 Warm Up with a Sample of Rise Up & Stretch, then dance moves for the Verse & Chorus of “Keep Your Head Up”
Have fun with a simple stretch session and learn the beginning of a NEW DANCE! Enjoy!

Photography Lesson #5 The Don’t’s of Photography
In this lesson we have fun looking at some really BAD pictures I’ve taken and how to make them better with a few simple adjustments. All the Don’ts are listed below the video for a quick and easy reference.
- Don’t Leave Awkward, Distracting Negative Space
- Don’t Leave Awkward, Distracting Stuff
- Don’t Leave Your Subject in the Dark
- Don’t Use Too Much Light
- Don’t Use Distorting Angles
- Don’t Cut Off Anything Important
- Don’t Move Unintentionally
- Don’t Make it Awkward
Guitar Lesson #5 Chord Practice & “Chasing Cars”
Here are some ideas on how to make sure practicing is happening and that it’s effective. Also, a new great song for those 3 chords!
Voice Lesson #5 Adding Colorful Emotion & Where We Look
Below is most of our class for this week and below that is a practice of the song plus the very ending of class. Have fun adding some depth to your musical performance as you figure out emotional colors, “who” you are singing to and where to look when you perform!
BONUS Rise Up & Stretch Class #3
I’m finally feeling a little better and can move again with minimal pain! Yay! Here’s a nice stretch for your back, shoulders, & legs. Enjoy and take care of yourself!
Dance Lesson #4 Bridge & End of Can’t Stop the Feeling
Here’s the last part to our first dance, Can’t Stop the Feeling, as well as some info on the origins of hip hop dance. The second video is JUST the choreography so you have something to practice with all the way through. Have fun!
Ukulele Lesson #4 A Chord & Try Everything
We added a chord this week, A, so look at our chart if that helps with exact placement. We also started learning “Try Everything” in a different key than the radio version so you can practice that at your own speed. If you like, download a metronome app and play along, slowly speeding it up as you get more comfortable with the chords. The music is below. Have fun practicing!
Photography Lesson #4 Composition
There is a LOT packed into this lesson! I hope the concepts here help you start “making” better pictures!
Guitar Lesson #4 A Chord and Try Everything
We added a chord this week, A, so look at our chart if that helps with exact placement. We also started learning “Try Everything” in a different key than the radio version so you can practice that at your own speed. If you like, download a metronome app and play along, slowly speeding it up as you get more comfortable with the chords. The music is below. I’m also including the music using C chord. We didn’t have time to practice that during class, but you know the chords G, C, and D so it might be fun to try to play the same song in another key!
Voice Lesson #4 Making the Most of Vowels & Consonants
Please do a thorough warm-up and then practice your song 3 times each day. The first time is on a lip trill or rolling an r sound. This will help practice your breath support and phrasing so only breathe at the slashes in the lyrics. The second time OVER annunciate everything. Keep a 2-finger distance gap in your mouth at all times, even if it feels silly! Pay attention to the power in your consonants and singing on the vowel. The third time just sing!
BONUS Rise Up and Stretch Class #2
This week my body was not happy! I had lots of pain so this stretching helped a lot. Always do what’s good for your body and what your health professional would recommend. 🙂 If this helps you, enjoy!
Dance Lesson #3 Choreography to 2nd Verse of Can’t Stop the Feeling
I think this is coming along in such a fun way! Watch for a little tweak in the chorus and have a blast dancing!
Ukulele Lesson #3 Yankee Doodle Dandy
Have fun strumming to Yankee Doodle Dandy for Constitution Week! Also, remember to get a capo for next week!
Photography Lesson #3 Subjects
Have fun getting to know your subject this week, what makes them tick and what brings out the feeling of your subject in each photo!
Guitar Lesson #2 Yankee Doodle Dandy
Remember to get a capo for next week and have fun strumming!
Voice Lesson #3 Making a Song Your Own, Breaking for Breath/Phrasing
I show a few video links in this video. You can look them up if you want to watch the entire song as I show the screen so they are easy to refer to. The links to the vocal track and minus track of “Tomorrow” are below, as well as the scene of the movie. I’m having trouble inserting the lyrics PDF so I will have to email that later. Have fun singing and lip-trilling!
BONUS Rise Up & Stretch Class #1
Here’s a sneak peak at the fitness classes I offer, and a chance for ya’all to unwind after a long day. Apparently the music was on too loud so I will be sure to triple-check my levels from hear on out. Just consider this a video without my voice getting in the way of your meditation. 😉 I hope you find it peaceful and reflective, even if my cats were crazy! LOL
Dance Lesson #2 – Reach stretching warm up, more choreography to Can’t Stop the Feeling
Here’s a new series of stretches for warming up and more choreography! Hope it’s going well for you!
Ukulele Lesson #2 – D chord, You Are My Sunshine
This week we talked about remembering to re-tune your ukulele between practice sessions and to check on it if you’ve been practicing for a while. Here’s a link to a ukulele chord chart with the simplified versions we’ll be starting with as we get our fingers used to the strings and build strength in our hands: https://www.accomplicemusic.com/ukulele-chord-chart-printable/ Please print it or look at it often for a handy reference. You can even hold these positions when you aren’t strumming (like while watching TV or listening to an audio book) to help strengthen your hand and build muscle memory. There are a LOT of chord charts on this page, but if you scroll down to the one that’s in a few bright colors I think that’s your best bet. It’s OK if you don’t print it in color. It just has the ones we’ll be using nice and large for reference. Finally, even if you don’t want to sing, at least think of the words to make sure you change chords in the right parts. Have fun practicing this week! 🙂
Photography Lesson #2 – The Magic of Light
This week we learned about the importance of light and some illuminating ways to play with it. (Excuse the pun, I couldn’t help myself!) I hope you give yourself the chance to experiment and take a photo by a window or puddle, or at least notice light and how it contrasts and makes the world more beautiful. Clouds are great for this!
Guitar Lesson #2 – D Chord, You Are My Sunshine
This week we talked about remembering to re-tune your guitar between practice sessions and to check on it if you’ve been practicing for a while. Here’s a link to a guitar chord chart with the simplified versions we’ll be starting with as we get our fingers used to the strings and build strength in our hands: https://www.music-for-music-teachers.com/guitar-chords-chart-for-beginners.html Please print it or look at it often for a handy reference. You can even hold these positions when you aren’t strumming (like while watching TV or listening to an audio book) to help strengthen your hand and build muscle memory. Finally, even if you don’t want to sing, at least think of the words to make sure you change chords in the right parts. Have fun practicing this week! 🙂
Voice Lesson #2 – Vocal Warm Ups, 4 Tips for Singing High!
This week we applied proper posture and breath support to sing sounds! The vocal warm up I take you through is with the free portion of the app 7-Minute Vocal Warm-up. The 4 tips for singing higher notes (in addition to keeping proper posture, placement, & breath support) are to raise the eyebrows, smile, lift one foot off the ground just slightly (I kick it forward just a bit to engage the ab muscles) and to tighten your rear area (I’m serious! It works!) Have fun humming, trilling and rolling those r’s! I’m excited to sing actual words with ya next week!
